About Delwood

Discover Delwood: A quiet, friendly neighbourhood in Northeast Edmonton with an active and involved community league.
The Delwood Community League was founded in the year 1966 and has remained the vibrant centre of our neighbourhood ever since. It brings Delwoodians together through events like the Fall Festival, shared spaces like the hall and rink, and programs driven by dedicated volunteers. By offering local recreation, social opportunities and a sense of belonging, the League enriches life in Delwood for residents of all ages and makes it a great place to grow!
The Delwood community is well situated, with quick access to downtown and the rest of the city through numerous bus routes, LRT, and Yellowhead Trail, convenient shopping at the adjacent Londonderry Mall, and plenty of educational options with two local elementary schools and multiple junior and senior high schools close by.
While the neighbourhood developed in the 1960s, the name Delwood has existed for much longer, likely named for Edward Delegare “Del” Grierson, a prominent land owner and politician.
