Share ideas and insights that will help shape and inform the future of the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL). Your involvement will help the EFCL board develop its 5-Year Strategic Business Plan (2014-2018) and review of civic engagement.
The EFCL was founded in 1921 and is the representative and governing body of Edmonton’s current 157 community leagues. The EFCL is committed to the community league movement and supporting the leagues as they work to achieve their mandate of providing recreational and social programming, amenities and civic advocacy on behalf of their communities.
The 15-minute survey is now open and available until Sunday, June 15. Thank you for sharing your input by completing the survey at EFCL Survey 2014
NOTE: This survey is open to community league members and non-members. Everyone’s voice counts so please share this on your own timeline. #YEGengage

Support the Delwood soccer program
April 12, 2014
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Proceeds will go toward equipment Delwood provides to children participating in the soccer program. Players will be dressed in our current Delwood jerseys related to their age group to identify themselves while out canvassing for bottles, cans, milk and juice containers (recyclables).
If you have recyclables and wish to not be disturbed, please leave any recyclables you wish to donate on your front step and the players will gladly pick them up.
You can also drop off your recyclables at Delwood hall parking lot starting at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Thank you in advance for your support.
Delwood Hall needs:
- to upgrade the flat (middle) and east roof of Delwood Hall. There is almost certainly some leakage on the flat roof already.
- to reduce ability of kids climbing on the roof – causing damage and graffiti to the property.
- to close off the outside alcove next to the main doors which create all sorts of opportunity for problems by the public (graffiti, littering, smoking too close to the entrance).
At the AGM, Group2 Architects presented three concepts and rough budgets for the Community’s consideration.
Option 1 – Create one continuous sloped roof line (similar to west side), add east parapet and new vestibule $160,746
Option 1A – Add east parapet and new vestibule, resurface flat roof $117,054
Option 2 – Create one continuous sloped roof line (similar to west side), new entry and canopy, add east parapet $194,819
Option 3 – New 800 sq. ft. second floor, staircase, new vestibule, add east parapet $333,024
There will be a general meeting called in the next few months to further discuss our options and get direction from the community. In the mean time, we would appreciate any feedback.
Please send your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org. There will also be a comment box at the Hall.

Delwood AGM Tonight!
March 17, 2014 at 6:30 pm
Delwood Community Hall
Your community has an exciting year coming up!
We have programs and events to plan: a very successful soccer program, youth programs, Fall Festival and more! We also have some major maintenance and improvements to the hall and rink to consider. Have your say as we discuss our upcoming year.
Any Delwood resident, with a current community membership qualifies as a voting member. Memberships will be available at the meeting. Your community league needs your attendance, so please bring your neighbours with you.
We must have quorum at the annual general meeting to be able to proceed with running the community. Without quorum we cannot conduct the business of the community including electing a new Executive Board and running the many programs that you enjoy.
It was a challenging rink year between the cold, the snow, and the warm weather.
With the coming several days of warm weather, the rink is now closed for the season. Thanks for the support and enthusiasm for your rink!
